Martina started practising Hatha Yoga almost 20 years ago, during her lunch break while working in the fast-paced corporate world. She was an Environmental Scientist for a large engineering firm and she soon realised that the highlight of her day was that precious hour spent in a cosy yoga room, breathing and moving consciously, connecting with her soul.
She completed her 200hr teacher training with Duncan Peak’s PLAY and went on to undertake several courses and retreats to further expand her knowledge, with special focus on the Satyananda tradition. In 2024, after 15 years of teaching yoga in almost every studio in the Northern Beaches, Martina partnered with her long time friend and fellow yoga teacher Alex Cogley to create Alma Yoga, with the vision of offering students of all ages and levels of experience the physical, spiritual and mental nourishment they need to embody their divine nature, realise their ultimate purpose and live their dream life.
Martina is passionate about the mysteries of the sacred feminine, the powerful nature of women and creating soulful communities in the ancient form of Women’s Circles. At Alma, she regularly facilitates Women’s Circles and workshops on Shamanic drumming and journeying, women’s rites of passage (menarche, childbirth, menopause) and their magical and spiritual aspect, including their connection with all natural cycles.
Her life’s work is to hold space for humans to explore their true nature, remember and embody their divine essence and find connection and empowerment with themselves and one another.
