Our Vision ~ To offer you a haven, a place to practice and step out of the busy city life and back into your body, your breath and a calmer mind. We welcome everyone; beginners right through to the most experienced yogis.
Alma Yoga is a place where people come together to share the experience of movement-based practices. To bathe in Sound Healing. To relax and unwind in Yin , Restorative, Gentle Yoga and Yoga Nidra. To learn to sit quietly through Meditation. To move fluidly and slowly in Soul Flow. To sweat, stretch and strengthen in Vinyasa and our Slow Burn classes. To activate the core, stabalise and strengthen in Mat Pilates and seek an effective post training stretch in our Saturday Stretch Studio.
Our teachers offer classes influenced by their own varied and diverse trainings, experiences and practices; allowing them to tap into their creativity and develop classes that they are truly passionate about. This gives students a broad range of styles to explore and encourages them find and develop an authentic and meaningful practice. Practices tailored to you.

Why Alma? “Alma” is a very ancient word and has many meanings in all languages.
In modern Spanish, “alma” means “soul”.
In Latin, Alma Mater indicates the archetypal nourishing mother, the wise one, and is one of Mother Mary’s many names.
In Arabic, it translates as wise, knowledgeable, The Knowing and also “The Unbelievable but True”!
Other profound meanings are found in Aramaic (The World), in Greek (salt water, the ocean, as the cradle of all life), in Hebrew (Woman) and in Islamic culture, indicating “someone healthy and full of vigour”!
And it is a blend of the founders names, Alex and Martina!
